49,194 students nationwide, or 35.34 percent, passed the MBBS/BDS admission test held on Friday. 20,813 male students and 28,381 female students passed the test, which is 42.31 percent and 57.69 percent of the total, respectively.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque disclosed the results during a news conference at the health directorate in Dhaka’s Mohakhali this afternoon.
According to the Directorate General of Medical Education, the results have been posted to the websites of the Health Directorate, Medical Education Directorate, and Teletalk websites.
Almost 1.39 lakh candidates applied this year, and 11,122 seats were available for the medical college admission. On the test with multiple choice questions, 40 out of 100 was the required score.
According to the health ministry, there are 4,350 seats in 37 Govt medical colleges and 6,772 seats in 72 private medical colleges.
