The MRT line-06 from Agargaon to Motijheel will undergo a trial run this week as part of the Dhaka Metro Rail system, indicating that the second half will be operational in the coming months.
The DMTCL has set a deadline for the trial run on July 7, but the date may vary depending on the decision of higher-ups.
The first section of MRT-06 opened on December 29 after the 8.11-kilometer elevated track was finished.
The trial run, which may take two to three months, could only decide when the remaining portions of the MRT-06 would begin service.
The MRT-06 has also been expanded by the DMTCL to Kamalapur station, with an opening date of 2025 as a goal.
