MP Azim Murder: 3-Member DB Team Arrives in Kolkata

Today, a three-person DMP detective branch team under the direction of additional commissioner Harun-Or-Rashid arrived in India to look into the May 13 murder of lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata.

The DMP’s deputy commissioner for the media wing, Faruk Hossain, told The Daily Star that the crew took a plane to Kolkata this morning.

The two other members are Shahidur Rahman, the Wari Division’s additional Deputy Commissioner, and Abdul Ahad, the Deputy Commissioner (detective).

A four-person West Bengal CID team had earlier traveled to Bangladesh to look into the incident and question three suspects who had been taken into custody here.

After the West Bengal CID team finished their portion of the investigation, the DB team traveled to India.

The DB authorities stated that they will visit the scene of the murder in order to gather evidence, as well as question the accused who had been detained by their Indian counterpart.

Additionally, they will present their results to the relevant Kolkata authority.
