A two-story structure in the Nitaiganj neighborhood of Narayanganj caught fire after an explosion this morning, leaving one person dead and nine others injured.
The deceased was identified as Awlad, 40. A number of the walls of the shops on the bottom floor of the building have also collapsed due to the explosion.
Fire Service and Civil Defense stated that six firefighting units were attempting to put out the fire. Around 9:00 am, an explosion occurred on the building’s ground floor.
Two of the seven injured by the wall collapse suffered burn injuries. Daily necessities, including paper rolls, were kept in warehouses on the ground floor. It was not possible to determine the fire’s origin right away. Police enforcement personnel have arrived at the location.
