Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina described the 2009 paramilitary killings as an unfortunate incident and said the nation does not want to see a repeat of such incidents.
She directed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel to follow discipline and chain of command. Sheikh Hasina said, “Only 52 days after the formation of our government, an unfortunate incident occurred in 2009 (the then BDR). The entire nation does not want to see a repeat of such incidents.”
The Prime Minister sought forgiveness for the souls of those martyred in the incident and expressed her deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of ‘Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Day-2022’ at the Bir Uttam Anwar Hossain Parade Ground inside the BGB headquarters at Pilkhana in the capital on Tuesday (December 20) morning.
