The National Film Awards 2021 winners were revealed by the Ministry of Information on Sunday.
There are 28 different categories in which the National Film Award is given. However, there will be 27 categories and 34 awards this year. Due to a dearth of qualified contenders, the category for “Best Dance Director” has been eliminated.
The “Lifetime Achievement Award” has been given to Dolly Zahur and Ilias Kanchan in recognition of their services to the film industry.
Both “Lal Moroger Jhuti” by Matia Banu Shuku and “Nonajoler Kabbo” by Rezwan Shahriar Sumit have been named winners in the category of “Best Film.”
Rezwan Shahriar Sumit will receive the “Best Director” award for his first film, “Nonajoler Kabbo.”
Azmeri Haque Badhan (“Rehana Maryam Noor”) and Tasnova Tamanna will share the “Best Actress” prize (“Nonajoler Kabbo”).
The “Best Actor” trophy will be shared by Mir Sabbir (“Raat Jaga Phool”) and Siam Ahmed (“Mridha Bonam Mridha”).
The award for “Best Supporting Actor” will go to Fazlur Rahman Babu for his work in “Nonajoler Kabbo,” and the award for “Best Supporting Actress” will go to Shampa Reza for “Poddapuran.” Joyraj will receive the “Best Actor in a Negative Role” award for “Lal Moroger Jhuti.”
For “Mridha Bonam Mridha,” Milon Bhattacharya will receive the award for “Best Actor (Comedy).”
Afia Tabassum wins the title of “Best Child Artiste” for her work in the movie “Rehana Maryam Noor,” bringing home another honor for the film. Jannatul Mawa will also receive a special award in this category for “Ja Hariye Jay.”
The “Best Music Director” honor will go to Shujeo Shyam for “Joiboti Konnyar Mon.” Both Muhin (Shonate Eshechhi Aj) and Chandana Mazumdar (Dekhle Chhobi Pagol Hobi), both from “Poddapuran,” are expected to win the male and female categories of the “Best Singer” award.
The song “Ontore Ontor Jala” written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar from “Joiboti Konnar Mon” won the “Best Lyricist” award, and Shujeo Shyam will receive the “Best Composer” award for the same song.
Rezwan Shahriar Sumit will also receive recognition for “Best Script Writer” for “Nonajoler Kabbo,” while Nurul Alam Atique will win “Best Screenplay Writer” for “Lal Moroger Jhuti.” Tauquir Ahmed’s “Sphulingo” contributed to his winning the “Best Dialogue” honor.
Samir Ahmed (“Lal Moroger Jhuti”) will receive the “Best Editing” award, Shihab Nur Nabi (“Nonajoler Kabbo”) will receive the “Best Art Direction” honor, and the “Lal Moroger Jhuti” filmmaking team of Syed Kashef Shahbazi, Sumon Sarker, and Mazharul Razu will receive the “Best Cinematography” honor.
The “Rehana Maryam Noor” team’s Sayba Talukder will receive the “Best Sound Designer” honor, while Edila Farid Turin (“Nonajoler Kabbo”), Md. Farukh, Md. Farhad and Reza Milon will receive the “Best Costume Designer and Makeup” honor (“Lal Moroger Jhuti”).
The “Best Short Film” award will go to “Dhar,” produced by Reza Ghalib, while the “Best Documentary Film” honor will go to “Boddhyo Bhumi,” produced by Kauser Chowdhury.
