In a fire this morning in Narail’s Kalia upazila, nine stores were completely destroyed.
Kalia Fire Service and Civil Defense stated that the fire started at a diesel shop at about 10:30 am in Shitalbati Sweet Gate Bazar.
The nearby shops later experienced fire damage. After an hour, locals were able to put out the fire.
As firefighters must cross the bridge of the Madhumati River to get to the region, it takes some time for them to arrive.
One of the hurt traders, Kamrul Mollah, estimated the damage from the fire at a few crores of taka.
According to a firefighter, the fire was started by an electrical short circuit.
