The integration of northeastern districts with the southwest region will raise the total output of the corridor by 1.4 times in 2030 and by 2.6 times in 2050, according to the Bangladesh Economic Corridor Development Highlight study.
As a result, 64 lakh jobs will be created in 2030 and 4.07 crore in 2050. The region’s entire production value is currently $32 billion, but if it develops, its gross domestic product will increase to $286 billion by the year 2050.
While praising the construction of the road communication systems, Planning Minister MA Mannan recommended avoiding Dhaka and creating alternate links for the growth of the corridor.
