The Pakistani military stated on Monday that the Royal Saudi Land Forces and the Pakistan Army had conducted a combined military drill in the eastern city of Muzaffargarh to improve their military prowess and share knowledge.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have close defense connections and cooperative bilateral security measures. Regular combined air, ground, and sea military exercises are conducted between the two countries. Every year, several cadets from the Kingdom travel to Pakistan to get specialized military training alongside peers from other Middle Eastern countries.
In the eastern city of Okara, last month, members of the Pakistan Army and the Royal Saudi Land Forces began a combined military training exercise. A joint defense meeting between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan convened in Islamabad in January to explore ways to improve bilateral relations and expand ties across all areas.
“A combined military training exercise was carried out at Muzaffargarh Field Firing Range by the Pakistan Army and the Royal Saudi Land Forces,” a statement from the Pakistani military’s media branch, Inter-Services Public Relations, stated.
In the training, which included Combined Battle PT, small-scale operations, room clearance, close marksmanship, firing, and repelling, it was claimed that both forces “actively participated.”
According to the ISPR, both forces received “intensive training” to master helicopter mounting and dismounting “in the context of terrorism” during the joint exercise, which involved Cobra helicopters.
It said, “The Pakistan Army and the Royal Saudi Land Forces will have a rare opportunity to align their strengths, exchange expertise, and enhance their military capabilities through these training exercises.”
