Pakistan’s former president Pervez Musharraf has died at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness at Dubai hospital.
Pakistani local media confirmed the news on Sunday.
The former military ruler was born on 11 August 1943 in Delhi, India.
The son of a career diplomat, Musharraf lived in Turkey during 1949–56. He joined the Pakistan army in 1964, graduated from the Army Command and Staff College in Quetta, and attended the Royal College of Defence Studies in London.
