After being introduced in today’s session by State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the Cyber Security Bill was approved by Parliament.
On September 5, he presented the ‘controversial’ bill to the legislature.
The bill was forwarded to the parliamentary standing committee on the relevant ministry for additional review by the Parliament’s norms of procedure. After that, the standing committee presented its report to the legislature.
On August 7, the government announced that it had decided to “transform” and “modernize” the Digital Security Act, renaming it the Cyber Security Act, and amending certain parts of the current legislation.
