Petrobangla signs a 15-year long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with QatarEnergy at the QatarEnergy Headquarters in Doha. According to this agreement, Bangladesh will start importing 1.8 million tonnes of LNG from Qatar per year, beginning in 2026.
This is the third contract signed between the countries. Qatar currently delivers more than 3.5 million tonnes of LNG per year to Bangladesh.
The agreement was signed on behalf of their respective companies by Zanendra Nath Sarker, chairman of Petrobangla, and Abdulla Ahmad Al-Hussaini, executive vice president of QatarEnergy.
The signing was observed by Nasrul Hamid, the State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources of Bangladesh, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, and the president and CEO of Qatar Energy,
