To bolster the Bangladesh Coast Guard’s (BCG) ability to enforce maritime law, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commissioned five cutting-edge technology vessels.
A floating crane, two tugboats, and two inshore patrol boats are among the fleet.
The vessels were built by Khulna Shipyard Limited (KSL) and Narayanganj Dockyard and Engineering Works (DEW) and feature cutting-edge technology like sensors, and surveillance radar.
Three automatic cannons on each of the inland patrol boats give them a range of four kilometers and a surveillance range of 96 nautical miles.
The ships are anticipated to expedite operating tasks, stop theft, stop people and drug trafficking, patrol blue economy borders, and carry out rescue operations in the event of natural disasters and maritime mishaps.
