The Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA), which aims to reduce the world’s reliance on fossil fuels, was established today by the prime minister of Bangladesh and seven other nations, including US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi pleaded with the G20 nations to join the GBA initiative and raise the global ethanol blend from 10 to 20 percent.
The Global Biofuels Alliance aims to promote collaboration and increase the use of sustainable biofuels in a variety of industries, including transportation.
Along with Hasina, several world leaders, including Modi, were present at the GBA’s launch in New Delhi on the sidelines of the G20 meeting, including US President Joe Biden, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Italy, Mauritius, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States are among the initiating members in addition to India; Canada and Singapore are observer nations.
Prime Minister Modi earlier asked leaders to start working on the “Green Credit Initiative” during his remarks at the G20 Summit session on “One Earth.” He also suggested creating the “G20 Satellite Mission for Environment and Climate Observation.”
“Today, collaboration among all nations is vital in the area of fuel blending. Our suggestion is to launch a global initiative to increase the percentage of ethanol in gasoline to 20 percent, the official stated.
