Prime Minister and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of her party’s Chattogram South Unit President, incumbent lawmaker from Chattogram-8 constituency and valiant freedom fighter Moslem Uddin.
In a message of condolence, she said, ” Bangladesh Awami League has lost a dedicated leader with the demise of Moslem Uddin.”
Recalling his contribution to the AL, the Prime Minister said Moslem Uddin was elected Vice President (VP) of the Government Commerce College in 1969 and joined the Liberation War at the directive of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He performed responsibilities of different posts of the Chattogram City and District Chhatra League fom 1970 to 1982, she said.
The AL President said that Moslem Uddin had shouldered responsibility of Chattogram South City AL as its General Secretary from 2005-2013 and as President from 2013 till date.
She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
