Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the free textbook distribution program among students of different levels in the academic year 2023. The Prime Minister formally inaugurated this program by handing over books to the students from the Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday (December 31) morning.
At that time, Education Minister Dipu Moni, Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain, and officials of the ministry were present. She said that new books would be given to students across the country from tomorrow, Sunday (January 1), the first day of the new year.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that the government has not forgotten to print new books despite the Corona and Ukraine-Russia war. She also said that children should keep pace with the world.
She said that the dropout rate from primary school has come down a lot because we are providing various facilities for primary school students. Apart from this, the attendance rate of students in primary schools is 98 percent because parents are aware.
