Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has joined the three-day Munich Security Conference 2024 in Germany.
The conference chairman, Ambassador Christoph Heusgen, gave a welcome speech at the opening ceremony on Friday afternoon at Hotel Bayerischer Hof, which she attended, according to a report by the government-run Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.
The prime minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud.
Hasina met at the hotel with Qatar’s Foreign Affairs Minister and Prime Minister, Abdulrahman Al-Thani, before heading to the conference.
Silvana Koch-Mehrin, the president of Women Political Leaders, visited the premier of Bangladesh earlier.
Masud Bin Momen, the foreign secretary, attended the meetings in addition to Mahmud.
Munich Security Conference is a well-known forum for international talks about security policy.
This year’s conference aims to counter revisionist tendencies and strengthen the rules-based international order.
The conference’s 60th anniversary will be celebrated, and there will be debates and side events.
