Metropolis Report-
Three members of the outlawed militant group Jama’atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya have reportedly been taken into custody by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police.
The information was released in a press release by the police media cell on Monday night, but it omitted information on the individuals who were detained, including the time and location of their arrests. All it said was that the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), a tribal separatist organization, had trained the terrorists.
Details will be revealed in a press briefing on Tuesday by the police detective branch.
Following violent skirmishes, robbery of banks, and weapons theft in the hill country, the Bangladesh Army spearheaded an operation against the KNF community. Tourists were advised not to go to the highlands by the authorities, and several dozen KNF members were placed under arrest.
A new armed group was founded, according to statements made a year and a half ago by Asaduzzaman, the chief of the Counterterrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC), by members of the outlawed terrorist groups Harkatul Jihad, Ansar Al Islam, and Jamaatul Mujahideen. According to law enforcement, this was Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya.
According to Asaduzzaman, the KNF, also known as the Bawm party, trained the Sharqiya members.
Several of the organization’s top officials have already been taken into custody by the CTTC and Rapid Action Battalion from various locations across the nation.
