This morning’s BNP protest march by the party was stopped by police using baton charges in Patuakhali town. At least six activists were hurt during the police operation, according to Patuakhali BNP leaders.
Around 9:00 am, district BNP leaders and activists organized a road protest in front of their office, calling for the resignation of the government and denouncing price increases on essential items as well as the detention of party members in ‘false’ cases around the nation.
However, Patuakhali Sadar Police denied that police intervened, claiming they just cleared the road after party members unlawfully barricaded it.
