To secure a free, impartial, and peaceful national election, President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Tuesday asked the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to maintain a high level of alertness and guard against any encroachment.
The chief of state also urged BGB to take more action to combat border killings, drug misuse, and smuggling.
According to a press release, Mohammed Shahabuddin mentioned this when BGB Director General (DG) Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan paid him a courtesy visit at Bangabhaban.
According to the press release, during the meeting, the BGB chief informed the president of the force’s overall activities, including the development and operational ones. The president recognized the value of BGB’s contribution to protecting the nation’s 4,427 km of borders.
The paramilitary force was also instructed by President Shahabuddin to work seriously in accordance with the Zero Tolerance Policy to stop drug infiltration.
