President Mohammed Shahabuddin left Dhaka last night on a six-day visit to Ankara. He will be there to witness Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s inauguration as president of Turkey on 3rd June.
“The President, at the invitation of the Turkey government, will attend the oath-taking ceremony of his Turkish counterpart at the Presidential Complex in Ankara at 5 pm (Turkey local time) there,” President’s press secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS.
The President, his wife Dr. Rebecca Sultana, and other members of his entourage departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last night at around 11:00 PM in a VVIP aircraft operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the official continued.
During the visit, the president will take part in several events, including dinners hosted by his Turkish counterpart Erdogan and official contacts with dignitaries at Cankaya Palace in Ankara.
According to the program itinerary, he will fly back on a VVIP plane on the 6th of June.
