In his first trip to Kyiv since becoming prime minister, Rishi Sunak met with President VolodymyrZelensky and committed £50 million in defense assistance to Ukraine.
According to Mr. Sunak, being in Kyiv was “very humbling,” and the UK will continue to support Ukraine, reports BBC.
Following the meeting, Mr. Zelensky declared that Ukraine and the UK had been the war’s two strongest allies.
The assistance is meant to defend against Russian aerial attacks.
The £50 million in defense assistance includes 125 anti-aircraft weapons, dozens of radars, and drone electronic warfare equipment to combat lethal drones supplied by Iran.
