As to the announcement made by the couple’s non-profit organization, former US first lady Rosalynn Carter, who was married to former president Jimmy Carter, passed away at the age of 96 at her Georgian residence.
“On Sunday, November 19, at 2:10 PM, in her Plains, Georgia, home, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, 96, passed away. She was an ardent supporter of women’s rights, mental health, and caregiving. Family was by her side as she passed away quietly” according to a statement from the Carter Center.
