The date of submission of the investigation report of the journalists Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Runi murder case has been postponed for the 95th time. The court has fixed March 5 as the date for submitting the investigation report.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rashedul Alam fixed a new day to submit the RAB report today, Wednesday.
On February 11, 2012, Sagar Sarwar, news editor of Machranga Television, and Mehrun Runi, senior reporter of ATN Bengal, were killed. First, the case’s investigating officer was a sub-inspector of that police station. After four days, the investigation of this murder case was handed over to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB).
After more than two months of investigation, DB failed to solve the mystery. Later, on the order of the High Court, the investigation of the murder case was given to RAB on April 18 of the same year.
