Seven Killed in Israeli Air Strikes, Say Gaza Rescuers

Gaza’s civil defence agency reported on Tuesday that seven civilians were killed in recent Israeli air strikes across the Hamas-controlled territory.

“The occupation launched violent air strikes on Gaza City and the towns of Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and Khan Yunis, killing seven civilians,” said civil defence spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal in a statement to AFP.

According to Bassal, four were killed in the Al-Rimal neighborhood near Gaza City, two in the Al-Sabra area west of the city, and one in Khan Yunis.

He also noted that “the occupation destroyed more than 10 homes east of Gaza City and in Rafah.”

The Israeli military has not commented yet. However, since resuming its offensive on March 18, it has stepped up aerial bombardments and ground operations throughout the Gaza Strip.

On Monday, Gaza’s civil defence accused the Israeli military of “summary executions” in connection with the deaths of 15 rescue workers last month—dismissing the conclusions of the army’s internal investigation.

Since March 18, at least 1,691 people have died in Gaza, pushing the total death toll to at least 51,065 since the start of the war, according to the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry.

The conflict began after Hamas launched an attack on Israel, killing 1,218 people, mostly civilians, based on AFP’s compilation of official Israeli figures.
