Amid a high alert, several public and private entities were subject to cyberattacks and data dumps. Local tabloids said that the cyber-attack resulted in the disclosure of data from a total of 25 Bangladeshi websites.
The Investment Corporation of Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services, and the Land Ministry’s land tax portal are among the organizations targeted by the cyberattacks. Low-level attacks were also made against various police departments, ticketing systems, and even bank websites.
The Bangladesh Government’s Computer Incident Response Team (BGD e-GOV CIRT) warned earlier this month that on August 15, a coordinated storm of cyberattacks could be unleashed against Bangladesh.
