Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been named the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s ODI (one-day international) skipper for the 2017 Asia Cup and 50-over World Cup.
At his mansion in the capital, BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon told reporters what the board had decided.
“Shakib has been named the captain for the Asia Cup and World Cup. Tomorrow will see the announcement of the World Cup and Asia Cup rosters. A squad of 17 players will be named by the selectors, according to Nazmul.
“Pressure is a major factor. Pressure at a World Cup is different from pressure during a bilateral series. Therefore, in my opinion, Shakib is the best person to handle that pressure at the World Cup, Papon countered.
