Teenage Boy Killed by BSF Gunfire in Thakurgaon

Police report that shooting from the BSF in Baliadangi Upazila, Thakurgaon, has killed a teenage Bangladeshi.

The event also harmed two other people, one of them being the youth’s father. The boy’s body was taken back across the border by the BSF, according to police.

Early on Monday morning, the event happened close to Kantibhita Border Pillar No. 393 in Dhantola Union, according to Firoz Kabir, the head of the Baliadangi Police Station.

The dead, 15-year-old Jayanta, is the son of Mohadeb Kumar Singha, who lives in the Upazila’s Fakir Bhita hamlet.

In the incident, Mohadeb and Bangthu Mohammad, who are from the same union, sustained injuries.

“The BSF fire killed Jayanta,” OC Firoz declared. The body was then returned to their region by the BSF. Two more people were hurt in the gunshots and are being treated in Rangpur.

The captain of the 50 BGB Battalion Thakurgaon, Lt Col Tanzir Ahmed, stated:

“We have received reports of BSF fire at the border resulting in fatalities and injuries.” Our group is investigating the events at the border. In any such case, the appropriate actions will be done.
