Three days after winning their first match in five years against India, Bangladesh women’s cricket team today registered their maiden one-day international victory over their neighbors with a 40-run victory in DLS.
At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh defended a modest score of 152 runs with the help of young bowler Marufa Akter, who took 4 wickets for 29 runs.
Having lost their previous five matches, this is Bangladesh’s first ODI victory over their renowned neighbors. When Bangladesh was given the opportunity to bat first in this 44-over match, they made 152 for 9, with Shorna Akter being unable to bat owing to an injury. The innings-high score for captain Nigar Sultana was 39.
In response, India was bowled out for 113 in 33.5 overs, with Marufa and Rabeya Khatun each getting 4 wickets.
