At her official house Ganabhaban on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met with Sir Tony Blair, executive chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and former British prime minister.
Ihsanul Karim, the press secretary for the prime minister, told reporters that the former British prime minister informed Sheikh Hasina of his institute’s operations during the meeting. The Tony Blair Institute’s goal of preparing leaders and governments for the future of the world was valued by PM Hasina.
She remembered her interactions with Tony Blair during his time as British Prime Minister. On Friday evening, Blair began a two-day visit to Dhaka (03 March 2022). Karim stated that they both evaluated Bangladesh-UK relations.
In addition, they discussed sports, notably cricket, as the English cricket team is now on tour in Bangladesh. In the meeting were British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, PMO Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin, and Principal Secretary M. Tofazzel Hossain Miah.
