Following a fire at an Ashrayan Project housing area in Sunamganj’s Dharmapasha Upazila, six family members perished from burns.

When the fire broke out at Shimer Khal village in Jayasree Union late on Monday night, police responded, according to Md. Enamul Haque, chief of Dharmapasha Police Station.

Day laborer Emarul Hoque, his spouse Polly Akhter, and their children Omar, Faruk, Farhad, and Fatema occupied the home. The fire destroyed them all.

There are 34 homes in the Ashrayan housing area, which is surrounded by the Haor, according to Sanjay Ray Chowdhury, a member of the Jayasree union council. When authorities reported the fire at night, they were unable to respond.
