A train struck an auto-rickshaw at a level crossing in Tangail’s Bhuapur this noon, killing at least three people—including a kid. Tangail Railway Police confirmed the news.
The deceased’s ages and identities weren’t immediately revealed. They were in the auto-rickshaw as passengers. Police and medical personnel reported that two of the victims passed away immediately, and the infant died en route to Bhuapur Upazila Health Complex.
A child was taken to the hospital dead, according to the emergency medical officer, while five injured people were sent to Tangail Sadar Hospital after getting initial care.
The auto-rickshaw was struck by a train headed for Jamalpur at around midday, according to Bhuapur Police. The level crossing is illegal, and there was no gateman present.
