In response to a loan default lawsuit brought by Agrani Bank, a Chattogram court has issued a travel ban for SA Group Managing Director Sahabuddin Alam and his wife.
The decision was made on Tuesday (14 March) in the lawsuit brought by Agrani Bank to recover Tk112 crore by Judge Mujahidur Rahman of the Chattogram Money Loan Court.
According to bench assistant Rezaul Karim, the court has prohibited Sahabuddin Alam and his wife Yasmin Alam from leaving the country since the Agrani Bank’s collateral was not paid for in full, totaling Tk112 crore.
Also, the judge ordered them to deliver their passports to the court by March 23. It was mandated that the additional IGP of the Special Branch of the Bangladesh Police take the appropriate actions to stop the couple from leaving the country.
