Two of the leaders of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were expelled today for violating the organization’s rules and harming its reputation.
They are Mohaimenul Islam Emon, a DU student majoring in Bangla and the vice president of the BCL in DU’s Surja Sen Hall, and Rajib Hossain Robin, a student of accounting and information systems, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Huq Hall, who occupies the same BCL position in his hall.
A Dhaka court sentenced the two to prison in a case brought by Shahbagh Police Station after police apprehended them at Suhrawardy Udyan for allegedly attempting to mug four persons while pretending to be law enforcement.
