Metropolis Desk-

On his next trip to Bangladesh on June 25–26, UN peacekeeping chief Jean Pierre Lacroix is anticipated to make a commitment to recruit additional forces from Bangladesh.

He is in the country as part of the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial 2023, which Bangladesh is co-hosting with Canada and Uruguay.

There are now 7,500 Bangladeshi peacekeepers serving on nine peacekeeping missions, making them the largest supplier of uniformed personnel to UN peacekeeping operations.

According to the UN mission for Bangladesh, 166 Bangladeshi peacekeepers have died while participating in peacekeeping missions.
