Health Minister Zahid Maleke announced that on June 18th, all state health centers and other designated locations across the country will offer vitamin A plus to children aged 6 to 59 months from 8 am to 4 pm.
At a press conference on the subject, he said that 2.5 million children aged 6 to 11 months, 19.5 million children aged 12 to 59 months, and 22 million children aged 12 to 59 months received red and blue vitamin A capsules.
A total of 40,000 health workers will work in 120,000 centers to reach this goal, he said.
He said children should be brought to the center on a full stomach and that capsules should not be given to children under six months old, over five years old, or sick.
