Wahiduddin Mahmud Predicts ‘Politically Elected Government’ in Bangladesh Next Year

Wahiduddin Mahmud, an adviser for planning and education, says he hopes for a democratically elected government in the upcoming year.

When asked when Bangladesh might become a developed country, the adviser gave his “opinion” during a conference today in Dhaka.

“Nations do not develop overnight. It takes teamwork. “We have a temporary government in place,” he declared.

“Next year, I believe a democratically elected government will be in place. I’m not sure what will happen, but this is my opinion,” he continued.

The Hotel Lakeshore in Gulshan hosted the four-day annual conference of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS).

During the first session, BIDS Director General Binayak Sen gave the introductory remarks.
