Due to inflationary pressure and adverse weather, the tourism industry in Cox’s Bazar is not anticipating a surge in visitors during the approaching Eid-al-Adha festival.
They have 450 hotels with a total capacity of about 85,000 rooms, but only 30% of these rooms have been reserved.
Around 50,000 tourists may arrive after June 29; this would be around half the number of visitors that arrived during Eid-al-Adha last year.
This Eid al-Adha, restaurant owners anticipate fewer visitors. Fewer tourists were present than usual on a visit to Kolatoli Beach.
However, other visitors anticipate that they would begin arriving the day after Eid-al-Adha, with daily earnings of up to Tk 3,000.
After Eid, it is anticipated that bus companies will increase the number of trips to provide smooth tourist transit. At popular tourist destinations around the nation, the scenario is comparable.
