In an interview given to the government television channel Russia One, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is ready to negotiate over Ukraine.
“We are ready to discuss an acceptable solution with everyone involved, but it depends on them, not on those of us who are not refusing to.”
“I believe we are working in the right direction. We are protecting our national interests, our citizens, and our people. We have no choice but to protect our citizens,” he said.
Alleging that the West is trying to disintegrate Russia, the Russian president said, “This is rooted in the policy of our geopolitical adversaries, whose goal is to disintegrate Russia, historical Russia.”
