Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, “We will take the loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). However, we will not go under any tough conditions.”
The bridge minister said these things during an exchange of views with journalists at the secretariat today.
However, he did not explain the hard conditions of the IMF. When asked, the Bridge Minister said, “We have an understanding of the terms of IMF loans in the past. We will not accept any conditions that harm the interests of the country.”
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said, “There is a dollar crisis in the country. Pressure on reserves is increasing. We need money at this time. Negotiations are ongoing with the IMF for the loan. What is logical will be done.”
