A woman has passed away from injuries sustained in a fire caused by a gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur.
The victim, identified only as Seema, 30, died while receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka at approximately 9:15 am on Monday, according to Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, the resident surgeon at the institute.
The fire occurred on Sunday night at a home in the Mogorkhal area under Basan Police Station in Gazipur.
Five individuals, including two children, were later admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka around 10:30 pm on Sunday, Dr. Shawon confirmed.
The others were identified as Parvin, 35, Taslima, 30, Tanzila, 10, and Ayaan, 1.
Dr. Shawon stated that Parvin had burns covering 32 percent of her body, Taslima 95 percent, Seema 90 percent, Tanzila 90 percent, and Ayaan 28 percent.
“The burns are extremely severe, and their condition remains critical,” he added.
