Metropolis Desk-

In Najran, Jazan, Asir, and the Eastern Province, Saudi officials stopped attempts to import drugs, according to a report from the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday.

39 tons of qat, 837 kg of hashish, and 336,694 controlled medicinal pills were intercepted by Saudi border guards, according to Col. Misfer Al-Quraini, a spokesperson for the General Directorate of Border Guard. Initial legal action has been taken against persons who are allegedly connected to the smuggling attempts, and confiscated goods have been given to the police.

The public is being urged by Saudi security authorities to contact 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province or 999 elsewhere in the Kingdom to submit information about drug trafficking or dealing.

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control can also be reached by the public by phone at 995 or email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be handled with complete discretion.
