amarspace – A Digital Marketplace for Interior Design

Metropolis Report –

Interior design is the practice of enhancing the visual appeal and functional efficiency of interior spaces in buildings, homes, and other facilities for the benefit of the people using them.

Interior design helps to create an environment that is equally pleasant and satisfying to the body and mind of an individual. However, the interior sector in Bangladesh is highly fragmented, where individuals normally experience certain difficulties like finding the correct professionals, handling duties coordinately, and assuring fair price and quality.

“amarspace” was formed a few months earlier to ensure a smooth and successful project by acting as a platform to bring designers, clients, suppliers, and builders together. As a go-between, “amarspace” will make sure clients get what they need on time and at a reasonable price.

“amarspace” is a data-driven platform where users can input their specifications and receive customized recommendations and price estimates. In that sense, getting a price estimate for a job is quick and easy which has been a major issue in the interior market.

For instance, a client wants to construct an entertainment center and dining wagon to improve the aesthetics of his house. The platform will automatically compute the total cost of producing the product as well as design based on the pre-stored data gathered from multiple designers, suppliers, and contractors to produce that specified product.

The client only needs to choose the measurements and materials that he/she needs. Simply put, it is easy for a person to receive a preliminary estimate when considering interior design.amarspace” also connects and coordinates clients, designers, suppliers, and contractors for rapid updates, tracking, payment, and delivery using tech-based solutions.

The services and facilities provided by “amarspace” can be availed through their webpage www.amarspacebd.com

It all started when co-founders, Sadat Ali Khan and Saifur Rahman, needed an interior design firm to revamp their previous workplace. It was tough for them to obtain affordable, high-quality work. They realized the interior market was disorganized and lacked crucial data. Since then, they have started the process of digitizing the entire operation to win clients’ confidence while also improving the quality and transparency of their work.

They collaborated with the Chief Design Officer (CDO), Masud Rana, who has more than 10 years of experience in interior design for both residential and commercial projects. He is the creator of the theme for the clothing line “Dorjibari,” which has been used in more than 17 showrooms across the nation. Mbrella, Leuk, and Al-Haramain are among some of his well-known works.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Saifur Rahman is a marketing graduate and has more than 15 years of experience in the business field, primarily in the apparel industry.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sadat Ali Khan is an engineering graduate who wants to create an impact on society by offering tech-related solutions.

The startup has been bootstrap funded from the beginning. The founders are hoping to stabilize a working model before raising any funds. They are now conducting research by aggregating data and inviting designers, vendors, and contractors to join their platform.

In a recent study conducted, the interior market in Bangladesh is predicted to be double sized in the next five years. The startup’s long-term goal is to become a pioneer in revolutionizing Bangladesh’s interior design sector.
